The Morgan Affair
The Morgan Affair
Reprinted from The Short Talk Bulletin - Vol. XI, March, 1933 No. 3.
Perhaps the most romantic story of Freemasonry, the fuel which the alleged abduction and murder of William Morgan supplied to the anti-masonic hysteria of a hundred years ago, and the gradual emergence of the Ancient Craft from the cloud which threatened to extinguish it, is a tale which all Freemasons may ponder to their enlightenment. William Morgan, a brickmason, lived in Batavia, New York, from 1824 to 1826. Accounts of him

Krucible Lodge No. 318 :: ab tenebrae luci
Welcome to Krucible Lodge No. 318 F. & A. M.
The South Puget Sound premier esoteric Masonic Lodge.
The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. Freemasonry is a society of men whose goal is to improve themselves and the world around them by engaging in the practice and application of a system of moral and philosophical lessons that we call Speculative Freemasonry.
The history, origins, and practice of Freemasonry is very ancient, and the lessons that we learn as Masons are known as the Degrees of Masonry.
Krucible Lodge is an esoteric lodge, or a lodge focusing on the examination and contemplation of the deeper philosophies, traditions, practices, and ritual, that have become the Degrees of Freemasonry today. We follow the practices of our Mother Lodge, Esoterika Lodge No. 316 in Seattle.
Did you know...
Our next stated meeting is February 29th! This is a Leap Year. Although most years of the modern calendar have 365 days, a complete revolution around the sun takes approximately 365 days and 5 hours, 49 minutes and 16 seconds. Every four years, during which an extra 24 hours have accumulated, therefore one extra day is added to keep the count coordinated with the sun's apparent position. So why the name Leap Year? In non-Leap Years there is a Leap Day - February 29th, which we "Leap" over and ignore until the "Leap Year" when we add in the day!
